On Thursday, May 17, 2018, the powerful duo of Stacey J. Gorowitz, CPA, MBA and attorney Loraine M. DiSalvo joined forces to speak on the “Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017: What You Need to Know for 2018 and Beyond” at the Lincoln Financial Group’s WISE (Women Inspiring, Supporting and Educating) event at Chastain Horse Park.
In their session, Gorowitz and DiSalvo highlighted three major themes and their effect on women in finance: Income tax rates have gone down, deductions have been limited or eliminated and the complex 20% deduction for qualified business income as well as TCJA impact on estate taxes.
The event is designed for female financial planners and insurance professionals to come together for education, sharing of ideas and best practices. This year’s theme, “Women Helping Women Succeed,” resonated throughout the day with a variety of sessions including Gorowitz’s and DiSalvo’s as well as thinking like a leader, articulating one’s value and overcoming burnout.
